We went there last Saturday night. The place was packed- thanks to a dinner party of 50 people. (Which I suspected it's also the reason why our food took a little longer than we expected to arrive at our table) The waiting staffs were attentive and cordial. We enjoy our food, especially the "maduros". Some of the restaurants use the yellow plantains that are not ripe enough, which lacking the sweetness and softness. My younger son enjoyed his Baby Palomillos, white rice and black beans. And he said, if we ever gonna dine out at a Cuban restaurant, he wants to come back to this one.

Yesterday was a lazy day for me, having gone to my usual North Beach chill spot to lay out in the sun and check out the start of full moon. Lazy days also equate to comfort "home" food for me and that translates to Cuban food. Seeing a few Yelp reviews from people I know (hi Cecilia S.) I stopped by Las Vegas for my pollo a la plancha fix. Although the bread seemed to be a little off from what the other reviews mentioned, it was more than made up for by the nicely portioned (two hands, yes, I'm an engineer, I measured) chicken breast with plenty of sauteed onions and a sweet citrusy aroma to it. The sweet plantains were certainly sweet and the black beans moros were OK. Dessert was a nice piece of flan that was sweet without being overly so and had a visually pleasing texture with the ridges. I'm giving them an extra star for the pleasant, grandfatherly service staff, which evens out with the coffee machine being broken (meaning I couldn't get my cortadito fix). The other Cuban spot a few blocks down is a little fancier, but this is certainly a solid Cuban spot in North Beach.

I went here yesterday with my girlfriend and the restaurant was empty kinda surprised since I go to the one in Pembroke Pines and it is always packed. The negative review I have to give is when we sat down in our table all we heard was someone coughing and coughing non stop coughing in the back room most likely the kitchen area which was kind of a gross feeling. When the food came out I didn't really want to eat it, so we decided to pack it and take it with us. I mean how can you have someone working at a restaurant coughing their lungs out? Never going to this restaurant again.

I guess there's a few of these in MIA? Whatever the case may be, this was close by our hotel (we were in town for Art Basel) and it came highly recommended from a friend of mine, so we stopped by. Because really, we were in Miami, so clearly we should get Cuban food. Duh! We ordered what seemed like everything on the menu, which is funny because it didn't come out to much, all things considered. One thing I didn't like was the papa rellena, it was alright, but a bit salty for me. Everything else though was great. The empenadas were huge and full of flavor. I got the shredded beef as my entree and it was a TON of food. In fact, everyone's order was a plenty. We each had enough food for an entire late night meal in our hotel. The bread that they give you to start is delicious; even the lemonade was outstanding! On top of that, we came up with the most difficult way to divvy up the check amongst the five of us, and the waitress somehow managed to get it correct, despite our best efforts. 4.5 stars. Definitely worth the trip if you're in the area.

Awesome food, awesome service. Really helpful bilingual staff to accomodate both spanish and english speakers, without making you feel pressured to know spanish. Very comfortable atmosphere, and delicious food. 5/5.
Great home style cooking. Friendly staff. Unpretentious restaurant. Definitely recommend.

We were on the search for good Cuban food, and we were thoroughly happy with this place. At first, we thought the service was pretty bad. We walked in and several of the workers passed by us, but no one greeted us. I thought it was pretty rude, but once we were seated, our waitress was really nice. We ordered beef empanadas (so good!), the potato ball stuffed with ground beef, and the el trio which came with grilled beef, chicken, pork chops, plantains, and rice. Another customer that sat by us actually suggested the el trio to us, and I was so glad we listened to them. Everything was cooked right to perfection - moist, chewy, and flavorful - absolutely succulent! Prices were fairly decent, and it was just a couple short blocks away from our hotel. I'd definitely go back if we were in the area again.

This review is for the Oakland Park location. My boyfriend treated my family to dinner and we chose to come here. I was a little put off at first because of the location and a really strong seafood smell that hit me when I walked in, but once we were seated, it was gone and nothing but goodness came afterward. THE BREAD IS AMAZING OMG!!!! We also ordered chicken empanadas which were made incorrectly 2 times, but third's a charm, right? They were seasoned fantastically. We ordered 4 different plates and barely anyone talked because we were too busy stuffing our faces! The prices were completely affordable and well worth paying for the quality AND quantity of what you receive. I cannot wait until my next trip down to South Florida and enjoy more of this place!

Hands down the best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had!! My cousin ordered the Ropa Vieja which was also very delicious!!

What a bust! We waited forever on our food, watched 2 tables get served their food who had arrived way after us. We told the waitress we just ging to leave, she was very apologetic by the manager was rude and didnt seem to care about it. Unfortunate because of previous reviews we were really looking forward to it.

Best churrasco I've EVER had. The sangria was amazing too, and their Sunday afternoon lunch special prices made everything even better!

I took lamb he was delicious and their French fries are amazing. The bread is so good too. I recommend this place. And the top it's not so expensive ( we are 5 ). The staff is nice and take the time for you.

This was my first time ever having authentic cuban food. It was good! I ordered chicken empanadas and plantains, which I stay craving. Most of the table had Arroz Con Pollo or Cuban Sandwiches. No one complained. Even the young lady that claimed there was nothing on the menu for her to eat tried some of everyone's food and liked it. She still went to get pizza though. LOL The price was very decent and the people that worked there were very polite. The young lady that waited on us would speak in both spanish and english...like I mean she would say her sentence in spanish and then translate it to english, which was good for me because it allowed me to practice my spanish. This restaurant is on the quiet end of Collins Ave. We stayed at the Eden Roc and went exploring and found this place. I will visit this place if I come back.

‼GARBAGE‼ They've Gone real bad in quality!!! Old rice with the smallest piece of chicken fillet I've ever seen in my life!!! This place makes Pollo tropical look like gourmet cuisine!!! GARBAGE!!!

Delicious Cuban food! My friends who visit Miami annually come here often. Again, pricey, but just like everything else in Miami. - Their plantain chips and mojo sauce are addicting. I could eat this all day. - Papa Rellena: Traditional Mashed potato ball with ground beef. You only get one, but it's soooo good! - Ropa Vieja: tender, flavorful, yuuuuummmmmmm!! - Churrasco Skirt steak with chimichurri - Um, if I were on death row, this might be my last meal. - Bistec de Palomilla: amazing just like everything else. - Filete de Pescado: today was fresh Swai served with grilled peppers and onions. Most entrees are served with rice, beans and fried plantains. I am not a fan of plantains, but for those of you who do, they seem to be amazing. The portions are very generous and everything is so delicious. Service is slowish, but everyone is nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back when visiting Miami Beach.

Wonderful Cuban food! Lechón asado is something to crave! Every time I'm in north beach this is a must go! Great lunch specials! Highly recommend.

I've been to better Cuban restaurants and this one takes the crown in bad service. Inside the restaurant smelled humid and dusty with poor lighting and without life. The waitress was forgetful and the food wasn't tasteful at all. The food preparation took a very long time while the place wasn't that busy. Comparing this restaurants with its local competitors I would recommend you skip this place for the price you're paying. Within walking distance you will find another Cuban restaurant with better service, food quality, presence all for the same price. The only bright side was the fact that we can eat ouside the restaurant.

i came here during lunch and the specials are on point. My buddy got the chicken and i got the fish the black beans were plush and the main course was super good as well. My good friend lives not to far from there so everytime im in miami we come here and eat come cuban food. The prices are decent you have to keep in mind miami is one of the most expensive cities in the USA.

Stayed at the Grand Beach Hotel (April 2014) to hop on a cruise for a week. By the way, great hotel. It was my famiy (wife 5 &4 yr old girls), another couple with son, and grammy. Was looking for a place to eat and came accross Las Vegas. Great place with great food! The wait staff was awesome too. I had my left overs the next morning and they were just as good!

Came here for lunch with my fiance. We both had the lunch specials: the roast pork and the fish fillet, both came accompanied by white rice, beans and fried plantains. The food size was huge, a big portion of meat, rice and beans. The server wasn't very attentive, we ran out of water and she didn't come by till the end of the meal. both the pork and the fish were nicely cooked, and frankly for meals for two under 22$ including tax and tip, this place is a good find in a neighborhood not offering that much choice in terms of restaurants!

Cristina F.
Decent Cuban food, I've had better elsewhere in the city (including just down the street). Surprisingly enough we called to place an order for 11 Croquetas Preparadas (family beach day!) and we were told they didn't have the sandwich. Any place that calls itself a Cuban restaurant should definitely have Croqueta Preparada!!

Good solid food for a good price. Large portions.

Dennis F.
The food was standard and by that I mean that it was good, not great. Nothing special about it. The service was very disorganized and I was really turned off by the way the check presented the "included tip" because after they included it on the bill, the bottom of the receipt showed suggested tip. If I looked at this and didn't notice that they included it I would have tipped 15% two times which I'm sure that was their intention. Most people don't realize this and get caught double tipping. Very sneaky. Be careful through Miami Beach because it seems to be a trap for tourists. I live in Miami and everyone in our party was turned off by it. Seems unethical. Incidently, I've have eaten in other Las Vegas Cuban Restaurants for the past 15 years and this was the worst.

Elliott H.
This place was awesome! It was the first restaurant stop during our spring break t trip to Miami and it did not disappoint. I ordered my first authentic Cuban sandwich which was big and delicious. The service was very good which we didn't find that much in Miami. I would definitely go again and if you're looking for good Cuban food you can't go wrong with this place.
(4)
Sneha P.
I had the Pan Con Bistec. The meat wasn't all that great, and the bread wasn't very fresh either. The meat was really tough and didn't have any spices. My friend had the Cubano and she wasn't impressed either. Service was ok, they were friendly and mostly attentive. However, they added an extra sandwich to our bill which we had to ask them to remove.

Im Cuban and Cuban food is not "special" for me, it's basic, I grew up eating it so when I go out I usually don't go for Cuban but I love to order instead of cooking and we order from Las Vegas Restaurant all the time. The food is authentic Cuban, the portions are generous and the service is soooo professional. We go to the restaurant sometimes instead of ordering and we are treated with such respect, the staff is excellent and the place is clean and "comfy casual" , we feel right at home and again the food is delicious ! The ONLY downside is that their menu is not as large as other major Cuban restaurants in town... they don't have a huge variety.
(4)
Cynthia R.
Great sangria and food. Loved the papas rellenas. Cant say anything negative...Maybe a little more variety of food?

Serena S.
One of the better Cuban restaurants I've been to for sure. Service is great and food is even better. The churrasco was amazing. I had leftovers and the meat was still tender after I heated it up the next day! It came with this garlic/parsley olive oil sauce, which made it even better. Free buttered garlic toast upon arrival? Yes, please. I also tried the empanadas and croquetas, which were delicious. The empanadas were flaky and the filling was generous. The croquetas were standard. Portions are worth the price you pay. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. I'm definitely coming back here again.

After searching for a Cuban restaurant, I'm so glad that we were directed here!!! We were seated quickly for a party of 5 (less than 5 minutes). They were prompt to bring us water and to take our drink and food orders. I ordered the Ropa Vieja, my husband and my mother in law ordered the Cuban and our boys ordered the kids fried chicken. It was all delicious!!! The Cuban was the best that we have ever had! There was a ton of meat on it and the flavor was so good! The chicken and the Cubans came with a ton of French fries. My Ropa Vieja was very good. The meat was tender and very flavorful. I had never had Plantains before but they come with the meal and they were delicious! The serving was plenty but I didn't have any left over. The beans that come with this meal were delicious as well. The restaurant was less expensive than the other restaurants in the area and in all, I would highly recommend this restaurant. The service was good and when my son spilled his water, he was very embarrassed. Several of the waiters came to tell him that it was not a big deal. They were very nice. Some of the staff don't speak English so just be patient if you have questions.

Good Cuban food, tasty sangria (despite the fruits coming out of a can). Buttery pressed herbed bread. Ordered the Las Vegas combination platter which is the best bet for newbies to the Cuban cuisine - it comes with plantains, white rice, black beans, vaca frita, lechon asado, and chicharron de pollo, and all for $16. Big enough for two, so it's a fraction of what you would pay if you got individual plates (a vaca frita is $10). Tres leches was not as moist as it should have been. For the price, good service, and the portions, this is a good place to return for Cuban.

This is our second time here. Every time in Miami Beach we make a point to eat here. Great Cuban food. Every item ordered was delicious. The pork with yucca and onion, to die for. Service was friendly and fast. Ambience is romantic. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will always come back.

Consistently good. I mostly order to-go. I don't know what happens to the Cuban bread when you get it to-go, but its terrible. It ends up stale and hard. But I've also had the bread when I've sat down to eat and it was good. Plantains are always good. The black beans are delicious and seasoned nicely. I usually get the Ropa Vieja. Vaca Frita is also very good.

Whenever I get the urge for Lechon Asado, I head to Las Vegas (restaurant). The pork is well prepared and usually has a crisping to the top which provide a nice texture. I order this with Yucca and mojo sauce and the black beans and rice - I think they call that "Christians and Moros - or something like that. This is about the only Cuban menu item that I order - I am a creature of habit. Also, the white bean soup - excellent. Prices are very reasonable and service is excellant. I now prefer Las Vegas restaurant to Versaille (though I love the ambiance of Versaille). So, there you have it - a review based on one item -

Las vegas in Miami why not! LOL service and food were great! I think I had better Cuban food but its okay to fill my hungry tummy. Ropa Veija with rice and beans were yummy. Cannot go wrong with Ropa Veija, a cuban delicacy. Also, had the sangria. Very sweet.

This was the first place my friends and I ate at during our vacation. It was couple of blocks from our hotel and Yelp gave it a good review. Thank you yelp for once again facilitating a delicious dinner! I had the fried yuca (the mojo sauce was delicious) and the vaca frita. Both which were absolutely delicious. The meet was fried, but yet so tender and the saute onions went great with the meat. This was the first time I ever had vaca frita, but I was surprised on how dry the meat looked but in reality was was extremely tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was friendly and fast. Our server Monica was absolutely hilarious and an excellent server. She definitely made our experience top notch and started my vacation on the right foot.

"Lechon Asado ( pork with rice and black bean) is the best at this place. Very traditional Cuban place. Cozy little moms and pop shop. Have a Malta with your food and your experience is complete. My only complaint about this place is that it's very dark inside."

Great food, great ambience. Loved the staff. First time there but will go back. Visiting from New York and hope to get another visit in before we leave. I would recommend highly to anyone who likes real Cuban food and great service with a smile!!

For our second winter break in North beach, my wife and I returned to this restaurant for two orders of delicious Cuban dishes: lechon asada and vaca fritta (sp?). Both tender inside and crispy on the surface, perfectly seasoned, a pleasure. Portions are generous, reasonably priced, and the service friendly. Highly recommended.

I've been here a few times. The first time was great but the few that followed have been just ok. They're shredded pork is usually pretty good.

Fantastic cuban food here. It may have been the fact that I hadnt had real cuban food in months before eating here...but even after hopping around to a few other Miami cuban restaurants I still give Las Vegas 5 stars, especially because this place is such a good value. Some of the highlights I remember are the garlic bread w/ butter, chicharitas (fried plantain chips), and the vaca frita which I ordered as my main meal. Our server was awesome and made me feel right at home. Wish I had a place like this in Dallas.
(5)
Maureen M.
It was so nice to eat someone else's cooking for a change. yes my husband is cuban and can cook a mean ropa vieja, but sometimes you just want to eat something else. their portions are large! I had the bistec de milanesa. . . omg it's like pork parmigiana! cheesy with tomato and breaded steak. the service here is attentive and very welcoming. i would definitely come back here again.
(4)
Dhanji D.
Excellent Columbian coffee, tasty food and authentic. The service was wonderful. They let you have enough space to have a conversation with whomever you are with and don't interrupt every 30 seconds. My girlfriend and I was wondering if the waitresses arse was padded or real. Yes, a good place for odd conversations as well.
(5)
Devin P.
For starters I didn't think this place was going to be good. It looks like your standard Miami Beach street front eatery. I was very surprised that the food was just as authentic as it was delicious. If you are not feeling like being healthy this is definitely the place to go; one of the best Cuban places in town!
(4)
Carlos G.
I'm not a big fan of Cuban food cooked outside of the home but Las Vegas is an exception. The black beans taste very "homemade" and have never had a bad meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
(4)
Kayce D.
Great meal, super value, great service, lower marks for atmosphere, fairly generic but big portions, pork dish was awesome. Went first time with cubans who knew the menu. Went back later in the week with my husband so he could try it. Had to drag him in but he loved it! Order the #7!!!
(4)
K G.
Excellent. We sat outside and got great service. The beef empanadas were perfect. The cubano was one of the best I've EVER had. Lots of fresh, warm, buttery/garlicky bread. Rice was good and I loved the black beans. And best of all, the platanos maduros...sweet, buttery, mealy joyousness. I can never find plantains like that anywhere but Miami, and how Las Vegas prepares these made me cry on my cubano. Do NOT miss this place when in Miami Beach.
(5)
Andrew Z.
Great food and great service! Price is also very reasonable and I love the outdoor seating. After just moving across the street, the first couple of weeks we had the lunch special almost daily. Now we eat there at least once a week. I love the chicken fillet with rice, beans, and plantains. So simple, yet so good!
(5)
Christine N.
Las Vegas is a quaint homey place with a mixed crowd of families, couples, and people of all ages. I'm not too familiar with Cuban food, but I can judge meat fairly well. My friend and I split the combination platter and I'm glad we did. The portion was huge and it came with 3 different types of meat, beans, rice, and fried plantains. The chicken and beef were all cooked well. Even after we split the platter, we still had food left. The Tres Leche was sweet and moist. And like all the Cuban restaurants, they also serve coffee after dinner.

It's been a long time since I have had such delicious Cuban food. Between the vaca frita, the tostones and the tamal I cannot stop thinking about heading back to Las Vegas Restaurant!

We loved this place. We went here because the restaurant at Canyon Ranch, in the hotel where we are staying, took 13300 hours to get us our food last night and, while pretty good, was silly expensive. So I checked out the reviews on yelp, we ventured across the street and found this place. Awesome! The half-chicken, for $7.95 is a STEAL: amazing, tender, delicious and comes with rice, beans, plantains. Our other dishes were also great: a fish of the day, a spicy shrimp plate and specialty pork. All delicious. For four people our tab was $85, which covered two apps, four massive ymmy entrees, some sides, sangria and a couple glasses of wine. CAN'T beat that. Enjoy.

Delicious. A bit busy and small but it's Miami Beach. Good value left stuffed at decent price.

This place is ok! I had my first Sandwich Cubano and it was good. Can't really say it was the best, as it was my first tasting of cuban food. I didnt finish it, but it came with fries--which was ok too. Next time I'm in Miami, I'll go to another cuban restaurant and compare...

For about a year this spot has consistently garnered a 4 star for price, portions and quality. Cuban food is pretty straight forward. Flatten, shred or chop your protein, then grill or fry it, top off with grilled onions and garlic, and serve with a side of white rice, black beans and your choice of plantain.. but there's one dish, a favorite of mine, that they can't manage to properly present. The Chicharon de Pollo consists of chopped thighs, drumsticks fried (with skin) and tossed with a garlicky mojito, in this form it is a finger-licking funtastic dish.. however the Las Vegas version is chicken breast prepared like a garlic scampi mash-up that resembles nothing like the real thing. Not Fried, no-skin, it IS called C H I C H A R O N, even the picture of this dish on their menu shows the traditional version but it resembles "nada" to the plate you will receive. So they only get 2 stars today because of this serious gaffe.. otherwise everything else is pretty awesome.

We were in Miami for four days, and this was our favorite. Not pretentious, great price for amazing food. Pork cooked perfectly. Sampler appetizer is huge. Best flan i've ever had. Definitely must experience.

I was really excited about eating here after reading the reviews. I ordered the Lechon Asada ( Roast pork). What a disappointment. The pork was tough, dry, and stringy. Luckily the rice and black beans were decent, and the plantains were good. My friend who ordered the arroz con pollo ( chicken and rice) was a bit happier, however not too thrilled with his either. I'll pass this place up next time for sure.

meh. went there on sunday with some friends... Nice little spot right off 79th st. i was craving a Steak sandwich. We all sat down. Server was polite. so far so good. they brought out some AWESOME buttered cuban garlic bread. we ordered Ham Croquettas to start... delish.... then our entrees came ... and thats where the goodness ended. My steak sandwich had one very thin piece of steak... and tomato slice about 4 times the width of my steak. needless to say. it was a Steak Sandwich FAIL. My friend ordered the Chicken and rice... Chicken was so dry it made you thirsty just looking at it. rice was gooey and undercooked. my girlfriend ordered the Ropa Vieja... which was probably just that... old. it was cold and bland. The only positive thing about the entrees were my french fries.... Would not return... Sad sad excuse for Cuban food.

Not as good as Havana Harry's, but still tasty. Not great decor, but great service, at a great price. If you're earning for Cuban and in Miami Beach, it's a solid choice

we started with the tamal con lechon(ground corn wrapped with husk with roast pork on the side) AND the mariquitas(green plantains fried with garlic mojito sauce). then my dining partner had the camarones enchilados which is basically a shrimp creole with black beans and rice (of course!!) and fried plantains. i chose one of the specials of that day, a choice between fried or grilled grouper. oh my melty mouthy goodness! i had this grilled. it was an extremely fresh piece which was again, super melty good. hehe. overall, las vegas 6 is an excellent choice. i read on the menu the story of the vilariño family who are the owners of this chain. read it. it's a very touching story. they express their gratitude for making it in south florida. well, let me express my utmost gratitude in allowing myself and countless others to enjoy your restaurant and it's yummyness!

Came in for lunch while in town with a friend and her mom. They love this place, and we NEEDED some cuban food before heading back up north to DC. Everything was delicious and authentic and very generous portions. All three of us ordered the lechon asadom and the meat was tender and crunchy and flavorful. Hope to come back!

It was good. Wanted to try something new in this area, will I go back? Yes. Ordered the fried chicken breast with rice and beans.. Chicken was a lil dry but in all it was tasteful.

I love this place, reliable, delicious Cuban food! Every time I am in Miami we come here and it never disappoints. I love their avocado salad, empanadas, mariquitas, and their delicious plantains!! I'm craving it all right now!! This a great no frills place in Miami Beach, very comfortable and a perfect place to go with family and friends and just relax and enjoy good food. I'd definitely recommend a stop here, you won't be disappointed!

This Cuban restaurant was recommend to me by a friend of mine years ago. I try to dine every time I visit Miami. Food is delicious, service great (especially if you're Spanish speaking... Very authentic), and delicious mojitos. Definitely a Miami staple.

My in laws are visiting and wanted Cuban food, and this is our go to Cuban restaurant. Always delicious. They bring out really good hot buttered bread and we ordered sangria. I know some people consider it low class to use canned fruit cocktail, but I am not one of them. I think it makes it sweeter which I like. Plus it's better to eat. ;) The daughter always gets the baby palomilla. So not baby size though. It's got to be at least 4 or 5 ounces, and comes with beans, rice and plantains. For $9. And the steak is crazy good, beautifully seasoned. I love getting her leftovers. The husband had the ropa viejo and I had lechon asado - roast pork in mojo. Mil had chicharrones de pollo (chicken chunks marinated and deep fried) and fil had the vegas combination plate. All came with rice, beans and plantains. All the meats were tender and moist, and the ropa viejo had a great tomato sauce to it. All plates were cleaned. Service is always good and the restaurant is right across from beach, in an area that is nice to walk around in. Highly recommend!

I have been eating here for the last 20 years of visiting from time-to-time( I live in Dallas). 5 stars plus!! Favorite dish is Lamb Stew!!! But, everything is fresh and yummy and the fried plantains are the best anywhere. Great service always as well.

Nom nom nom...great food and service! I got the Filete de Pescado and it was fantastic. Came with rice, beans and sweet plantains. I was stuffed! Would definitely come back here again!

My and my boyfriend went here for lunch the day our flight arrived. We were starving! My boyfriend ordered off the lunch menu, a skirt steak, rice & beans, tostones (which they allowed as a substitution). I ordered off the regular menu the trio of their most popular dishes, lechon assado, chicarones de pollo & fried beef, with rice & beans and yellow plaintains. The portions on both meals were huge! The reason why I gave them 4 instead of 5 is because I felt the food could use more flavor/seasoning, something was definitely missing.

Warning: Do NOT order the Zarzuela de Mariscos. It's listed on the menu as "Seafood Mix" and is supposed to come faster than a seafood paella. But for $28, this is a hot mess of overcooked frozen seafood. At least, that's what it tasted like. The lobster tails were mealy rubber. The mussels nearly as bad. There were a few flecks of a white fish fillet that might've been fresh and could've been tasty. But we couldn't tell for sure because the fish pieces were so small. Shrimp was nothing to talk about either. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing because the reviews for this place are good on Yelp. And, while we dined outside, a Miami firetruck pulled up to pick up takeout; firefighters usually know good food. Then again, the pressed garlic bread that came for free was so sad and tasteless...maybe it wasn't us after all. On the plus side, I will say the staff is very, very nice. And we enjoyed sitting outside, people watching. Maybe this is a better place for a few drinks and fried appetizers? Or a chicken entree?

This was very very very good. Know a bit of Cuban Spanish? You will be happy even if you don't. This is a must! Braised Lamb was crazy good. Black peas in the rice or just separate is great. The bread served was NOT Cuban bread so that was disappointing but you aren't there for the bread but for the meals. My poor belly was extended from eating so much. Anytime you see an ethnic food place full of the same ethnic group...chances are...get in line!! Las Vegas restaurant is such a place aforementioned!

This place is so good that I fly in town just for dinner here. Been coming here for about 5 years. I am a creature of habit and always get the Filet de pollo w/sweet plantains and white rice. I never get tired of it. The red sangria is also off the hook. Service is always with a smile. This is a great authentic family Cuban restaurant. While they have multiple locations I always come to 6970 Collins Ave in Miami. If you like Cuban --try this place and you won't regret it.

Best platanos on the beach hands down! Ui Mama! Rics! Friendly service, good food and reasonable prices! Sounds like a triple threat you can't afford to try!

One of our favorites in Miami beach! Great authentic food, great service, homemade sangria was delicious, food came out fast, and was reasonably priced. Two thumbs up!!

I've been coming here for over 15 years. If your in the area this is the place to eat. Daily specials always a good deal. Highly recommend for good authentic Cuban food.

The MOJITO was tasty. Fresh herbs & lime. Very refreshing! You don't taste the alcohol as much but it catches up to you. The OX TAIL SPECIAL was delicious! Great tasting base sauce. It could've been cooked longer, but still very delicious! The WHITE RICE & FRIED PLANTAINS sides were good too. The YUCCA W/ ONIONS IN MOJO SAUCE was amazing! I loved it! The texture of the yucca was cooked perfectly. The onions & mojo sauce added just the right amount of flavor w/o making them too salty. The CUBAN COFFEE was great! Very strong & flavorful! They put sugar on the bottom of the cup, so even the black coffee is slightly sweetened. I loved the coffee! I like that there is a selection of sides to choose from here. You have options & not just stuck w/ the rice & beans it normally comes w/. Great experience & food overall!

So after some serious consideration I am re-writing this review. At first I thought Incredibly good, I read a lot of good reviews but was skeptical going in and ended up very happy. Although the sangria was made with fruit cups it was still good and sweet enough that it was above average . The food on the other hand was good for the most part with some complaints. If you enjoy yucca and onions getting that for a side is a great idea. Pork dishes are very good almost like a steamed beef, seafood is really smelly. Admittedly this location is in a little but of a dumpy strip and the building isn't great seems tired and dirty. The food speaks is good but some if half assed. The beans had no flavor the chicken was good but dry. I would say realistically they waiver between a 3 and 4 but the dumpy area drops them to a 3.

Wow that's a I can say... I thought Miami had the best Cuban food, so I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was really nasty... I would never order from this place again... The sandwich was too fat... Way to much meat no pickles just plain cheese and meat... Oh and I had a hair in my sandwich as well

Excellent price versus quality, especially considering the location. Starter: giant shrimps with garlic and onion. Being a garlic lover, it was a real treat. Main course: 3 kinds of grilled meat (chicken, beef, pork), with, off course, the typical "rice and beans". Finishing with a "Cuban coffee" (=espresso with lots of sugar).

Great food. Traditional setting. Great service. Doesnt look stellar from the outside but the food was delicious and prices were reasonable.

I can't really review this place as the service was non existent. We decided to dine outside and a waiter said he would be right with us. Well, he came back out along with another employee and they proceeded to clean the table next to us. Neither said a word to us. It took 2 of them to clean a small table and they couldn't be bothered to bring menus to us... We continued to wait for another 8 minutes before we got up and walked to Sazan Cuban. If the place was busy, that would be one thing but there was hardly anyone inside so there is no excuse for the lack of service. I get it. They see a lot of tourists and probably most of them are not repeat customers. As a business they are probably not interested in service but guess what - I live in North Beach and can tell you that I won't be returning to Las Vegas Cuban to eat mediocre food and experience nonexistent service.

We went to visit this restaurant with family, not very sure about Cuban food, but since we were in Miami, we might as well try. The food was delicious. I ordered a fried pork dish and it was absolutely delicious. The portions were huge and the plantains (a type of banana that is prepared with caramelized sugar) were delicious. The restaurant is clean and the staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable and the lunch special options were good. Even though this is not in Little Havana, this place was delicious.

Lechen asado (pork) with sauteed onions was the best thing here. The top layer of pork was nice and crispy, the way I like it. Yuca frita was really crunchy with garlic sauce. We really liked it. The skirt steak was alright nothing special. They also gave us free yummy garlic toast before our meals came out which were gone in no time. We ordered a pitcher of sangria which was decent but real sweet. I don't think the fruits were fresh. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.

I've been to this venue before and I've been pleased with their lunch specials in the past. Last weekend that I was there I used a groupon I had purchased. I must say the services was not the best! I had to order from their dinner menu during lunch time which I was okay with. I ordered the Churrasco (skirt steak) and I was given a regular dried tasteless steak. My husband ordered the OX tail and he was just given two small pieces and she said to him, "uff you were hungry!", after picking up his plate. The tres leches was frozen and did not taste good. I will not be returning to this venue. I'm disappointed!

Filete de pollo was expertly seasoned and cooked. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was quick, friendly, and very attentive, especially since I was the only one seated outside. Very pleased and will definitely be back.

I went there for the first time after looking up Cuban restaurants near the location I was staying. I love Cuban food but always go to the same places (La Carreta, Lario's and David's cafe). This place was a positive surprise. I had the chicken breast (pollo a la plancha), rice, beans and boiled yuca.... It was delicious. The yuca was a little too hard, but the fact that the order comes with 3 sides instead of 2 (like almost all the other Cuban restaurants) makes it up. The prices are also very decent. The staff was nice and helpful. Nice job Las Vegas!

The cuban sandwich with croqueta is soooooo good! Would recommend pairing it with chicharritas dipped in their mojo. They have great lunch specials everyday.

This was great Cuban food. We just returned from Cuba and it was as good as any restaurant in Cuba. People are friendly. It's a must place to go.

My cousin and I came across this place while on vacation in Miami. We both had the "ropa vieja" lunch special and it was amazing! The food had so much flavor. The portions are very generous for a really reasonable price considering its on Collins where everything is over priced. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant when I come back to Miami!

Came here on New Years eve with my wife and daughter. To drink I had a Presidente beer and my wife had a Sangria, which she loved. The Sangria uses fruit cocktail instead of fresh fruit which gives it a sweeter taste. My daughter got the beef empenadas, my wife got the Churrasco and I got the Las Vegas Combination which has Vaca Frita, Chicharron de Pollo and Lechon Asado (roated pork). The combo and the Churrasco came with maduros (sweet plantains), white rice and black beans. The empenada was very good and so was the Churrasco. The Chicharron was one of the best I've had, but the Vaca Frita and Lechon Asado were just okay. The black beans didn't have much flavor. The maduros were very good. The service was perfect. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were shown to our table. Within seconds a lady brought my wife and I waters and came back a minute later with a lidded cup of water for my daughter. Servers and bussers almost never do that. She also brought over some garlic toast. Our server then came over to see if we wanted something additional to drink. He came back in a few minutes with the drinks and gave us a few more minutes to look over the menu as we weren't ready. When we closed our menus he came right back to take our order. The dinners came about 15 minutes later. He followed up twice during the meal and was almost always in reach in case we needed something. The prices are good, many of the meals are around $10-12. They automatically add 15% gratuity, but we added extra on for the good service. This place is about 1.5 miles from our house, so I can definitely see it being a regular spot for us.

I think this was the first place I came to during my move in to the area. I've tried the Cuban sandwich here, which is well done, good fries. I have also tried the Lechon Asado and the Vaca Frita. Portions are large, and the prices are reasonable for the beach. This place isn't cheap... Overall this is probably the best cuban in north beach, but you are better off going across the bay to the restaurant little Havana or actually going to Little Havana :)

If you want great Cuban food this is the place to go. I always order the same thing churrasco (skirt steak) with rice and beans and sweet plantains. Good service . Quick service. Con: sometimes the waiter/waitress take too long to being more water or are forgetful
Very good Cuban food for my "last supper" in Miami Beach! I had a traditional Cuban sandwich. The plantain chips can be dipped in garlic sauce and are delicious!

First time dining here. Me and my friend split an order of beef empanadas and each had an order of lechon asado (pulled pork) followed up with the chocolate cake. I honestly don't think you can find a better deal for Cuban food. The quality is superb and the quantity is quite nice for the price. The empanadas were extremely good, as was the lechon. Also, order the lemonade. The chocolate cake seems like it might be store bought - but it still tastes amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Roast pork was delicious... Requested yellow rice instead of white rice and I was not disappointed. Food was excellent and so was the service. We will be back again!

You won't find better Cuban food in Miami Beach. I guarantee you. Everything is good from the palomilla/cuban steak, rice, beans, moros, ficasse de pollo, lechon, soups, sandwiches, etc. Their coffee, bunuelos, etc. things that aren't food food are also good. I wouldn't hesitate having breakfast here either. Their desserts are good. I always get their flan con coco. My only compliant is that they should improve their mojo recipe, it's not that great. I always feel disappointed ordering their yuca herbida with mojo. There is a restaurant called La Cubana in Glendale, CA and they serve the best mojo I've ever had. Anyway, everything else is just excellent. The staff are very nice people too including the owner!!! Very nice sweet old man. I'm unsure if they still do it but you could sign up for one of their 5 day meals for a week for $25! It's called "Cantina". $5 a day if you do the math. The meal includes a full plate (rice, beans/moros, meat, plaintains, soup or salad). Good deal! Perfect if you're alone and single like I was. This restaurant deserves much love. :) it saved me from dire starvation. I wish them the very best.

(4)Ari W.
Awesome food, awesome service. Really helpful bilingual staff to accomodate both spanish and english speakers, without making you feel pressured to know spanish. Very comfortable atmosphere, and delicious food. 5/5.
(5)David R.
Best Cuban. Reasonable prices and always consistently excellent. I get the appetizer sample for group parties and it serves a few. Favorite dishes are the chicharrones de pollo al ajillo (chicken chunks sautéed in olive oil garlic and spices) and the lechon asado (roast pork). Only loses a star because the restaurant itself is lacking, we prefer to just get takeout from there.
(4)Eric L.

(5)Jennye P.
First time in Miami and was starving... Restaurant was within walking distance and well worth the walk!!! Delicious delicious delicious!!!
(5)Danny R.
Hands down the best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had!! My cousin ordered the Ropa Vieja which was also very delicious!!
(5)Whitney H.
What a bust! We waited forever on our food, watched 2 tables get served their food who had arrived way after us. We told the waitress we just ging to leave, she was very apologetic by the manager was rude and didnt seem to care about it. Unfortunate because of previous reviews we were really looking forward to it.
(1)Erin G.
Best churrasco I've EVER had. The sangria was amazing too, and their Sunday afternoon lunch special prices made everything even better!
(5)Sandrine P.
I took lamb he was delicious and their French fries are amazing. The bread is so good too. I recommend this place. And the top it's not so expensive ( we are 5 ). The staff is nice and take the time for you.
(5)Tunicia W.
(4)Delia N.
Neighborhood joint that we frequent. Best lechón asado we've had in Miami Beach. Kind service even when packed.
(5)Ernesto C.
‼GARBAGE‼ They've Gone real bad in quality!!! Old rice with the smallest piece of chicken fillet I've ever seen in my life!!! This place makes Pollo tropical look like gourmet cuisine!!! GARBAGE!!!
(1)Lourdes E.
This is a solid place with consistent good food and generous portions. Had the oxtail last night and it was excellent-- lived it all
(5)Sarah B.
(4)Michael S.
Wonderful Cuban food! Lechón asado is something to crave! Every time I'm in north beach this is a must go! Great lunch specials! Highly recommend.
(5)Edwin A.
(1)Vic P.
i came here during lunch and the specials are on point. My buddy got the chicken and i got the fish the black beans were plush and the main course was super good as well. My good friend lives not to far from there so everytime im in miami we come here and eat come cuban food. The prices are decent you have to keep in mind miami is one of the most expensive cities in the USA.
(4)Nick B.
I go to Las Vegas every time I come to Miami. Great authentic Cuban food. The service is friendly and attentive. The pollo empanizado is amazing! Highly recommended!
(5)JaVonna J.
Delicious! Delicioso! Fantastico! Huge portions. Very satisfied and I had a lunch special! Prices weren't bad and the sangria was refreshing.
(5)Bubba W.
(5)Myla X.
(3)Cristina F.
(3)Ben R.
Good solid food for a good price. Large portions.
(3)Dennis F.
(3)Elliott H.
(4)Sneha P.
(2)NORI R.
(4)Cynthia R.
Great sangria and food. Loved the papas rellenas. Cant say anything negative...Maybe a little more variety of food?
(5)Serena S.
(4)Tiffany S.
(4)Jordan N.
(5)Joanne P.
Just had a delicious Cuban roast pork with black beans and rice. Nice place with good service. Excellent.
(4)Marc M.
Fabulous cuban cuisine...the lechon is to die for!
(5)Jennifer L.
This is our second time here. Every time in Miami Beach we make a point to eat here. Great Cuban food. Every item ordered was delicious. The pork with yucca and onion, to die for. Service was friendly and fast. Ambience is romantic. We highly recommend this restaurant. We will always come back.
(4)Danielle S.
(4)Roger Y.
So, there you have it - a review based on one item -
(5)Aileen F.
Very sweet.
(3)hanna y.

(5)T. W.
Great food, great ambience. Loved the staff. First time there but will go back. Visiting from New York and hope to get another visit in before we leave. I would recommend highly to anyone who likes real Cuban food and great service with a smile!!
(5)Alain Z.
(5)Luccas P.
I've been here a few times. The first time was great but the few that followed have been just ok. They're shredded pork is usually pretty good.
(3)Eric O.
(5)Maureen M.
(4)Dhanji D.
(5)Devin P.
For starters I didn't think this place was going to be good. It looks like your standard Miami Beach street front eatery. I was very surprised that the food was just as authentic as it was delicious. If you are not feeling like being healthy this is definitely the place to go; one of the best Cuban places in town!
(4)Carlos G.
I'm not a big fan of Cuban food cooked outside of the home but Las Vegas is an exception. The black beans taste very "homemade" and have never had a bad meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
(4)Kayce D.
Great meal, super value, great service, lower marks for atmosphere, fairly generic but big portions, pork dish was awesome. Went first time with cubans who knew the menu. Went back later in the week with my husband so he could try it. Had to drag him in but he loved it! Order the #7!!!
(4)K G.
(5)Andrew Z.
Great food and great service! Price is also very reasonable and I love the outdoor seating. After just moving across the street, the first couple of weeks we had the lunch special almost daily. Now we eat there at least once a week. I love the chicken fillet with rice, beans, and plantains. So simple, yet so good!
(5)Christine N.
(4)Jenna M.
It's been a long time since I have had such delicious Cuban food. Between the vaca frita, the tostones and the tamal I cannot stop thinking about heading back to Las Vegas Restaurant!
(4)Icanonlyb J.
Pretty good. No complaints. Good service, large portions, pretty good food.
(3)Ruth J.
The food is grate. I try to go twice a week.
(5)Walker A.
Enjoy.
(4)David L.
Delicious. A bit busy and small but it's Miami Beach. Good value left stuffed at decent price.
(4)Tony C.
This place is ok! I had my first Sandwich Cubano and it was good. Can't really say it was the best, as it was my first tasting of cuban food. I didnt finish it, but it came with fries--which was ok too. Next time I'm in Miami, I'll go to another cuban restaurant and compare...
(3)G A.
Service and food is great. We ordered the #10, #4, and #3. We are all satisfied and will come back.
(4)Jorge V.
(2)Brinda G.
We were in Miami for four days, and this was our favorite. Not pretentious, great price for amazing food. Pork cooked perfectly. Sampler appetizer is huge. Best flan i've ever had. Definitely must experience.
(5)Bea M.
(2)Alexis F.
meh. went there on sunday with some friends...
(2)Andy D.
Not as good as Havana Harry's, but still tasty. Not great decor, but great service, at a great price. If you're earning for Cuban and in Miami Beach, it's a solid choice
(3)g. m.
we started with the tamal con lechon(ground corn wrapped with husk with roast pork on the side) AND the mariquitas(green plantains fried with garlic mojito sauce). then my dining partner had the camarones enchilados which is basically a shrimp creole with black beans and rice (of course!!) and fried plantains. i chose one of the specials of that day, a choice between fried or grilled grouper. oh my melty mouthy goodness! i had this grilled. it was an extremely fresh piece which was again, super melty good. hehe. overall, las vegas 6 is an excellent choice. i read on the menu the story of the vilariño family who are the owners of this chain. read it. it's a very touching story. they express their gratitude for making it in south florida. well, let me express my utmost gratitude in allowing myself and countless others to enjoy your restaurant and it's yummyness!
(5)Caitlin O.
(4)Angie P.
It was good. Wanted to try something new in this area, will I go back? Yes. Ordered the fried chicken breast with rice and beans.. Chicken was a lil dry but in all it was tasteful.
(4)Ally T.
(5)Sunni W.
This Cuban restaurant was recommend to me by a friend of mine years ago. I try to dine every time I visit Miami. Food is delicious, service great (especially if you're Spanish speaking... Very authentic), and delicious mojitos. Definitely a Miami staple.
(5)Michael P.
Upon suggestion our our Cuban Ãœber - went for lunch. Great! The mixed appetizers howevera should be viewed as an entire meal ... for 2. Excellent start of the weekend.
(5)Beth S.
(5)Mario K.
Try it. It's a good place Good service Good prices A lot of food on your place You can't go wrong Nothing fancy just good home cooked Cuban food
(4)Shelly E.
I have been eating here for the last 20 years of visiting from time-to-time( I live in Dallas). 5 stars plus!! Favorite dish is Lamb Stew!!! But, everything is fresh and yummy and the fried plantains are the best anywhere. Great service always as well.
(5)Antoinette H.
Nom nom nom...great food and service! I got the Filete de Pescado and it was fantastic. Came with rice, beans and sweet plantains. I was stuffed! Would definitely come back here again!
(5)Cristina M.
(4)Betty Ming L.
(1)Vic W.
(5)Milton H.
(5)Ana S.
Best platanos on the beach hands down! Ui Mama! Rics! Friendly service, good food and reasonable prices! Sounds like a triple threat you can't afford to try!
(4)Natalie B.
One of our favorites in Miami beach! Great authentic food, great service, homemade sangria was delicious, food came out fast, and was reasonably priced. Two thumbs up!!
(5)H P.
I've been coming here for over 15 years. If your in the area this is the place to eat. Daily specials always a good deal. Highly recommend for good authentic Cuban food.
(5)Christine F.
(4)Kim G.
Really good food & big portions, very friendly service & super fast delivery...will be ordering from here again.
(5)Bryan R.
(3)Maya V.
Wow that's a I can say... I thought Miami had the best Cuban food, so I ordered a Cuban sandwich and it was really nasty... I would never order from this place again... The sandwich was too fat... Way to much meat no pickles just plain cheese and meat... Oh and I had a hair in my sandwich as well
(1)Sven P.
(4)Rosita C.
Great food. Traditional setting. Great service. Doesnt look stellar from the outside but the food was delicious and prices were reasonable.
(5)Patricia S.
Food and service always good. Never disappointed. We eat here at least twice a month and we love everything.
(5)Sarah H.
(1)Chrisdy A.
(4)Kathy D.
(3)Ali R.
(1)Robert H.
Filete de pollo was expertly seasoned and cooked. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service was quick, friendly, and very attentive, especially since I was the only one seated outside. Very pleased and will definitely be back.
(5)A P.
(5)Alexandra M.
The cuban sandwich with croqueta is soooooo good! Would recommend pairing it with chicharritas dipped in their mojo. They have great lunch specials everyday.
(4)Lou R.
This was great Cuban food. We just returned from Cuba and it was as good as any restaurant in Cuba. People are friendly. It's a must place to go.
(5)Amanda M.
(5)Michael S.
(4)Jonah K.
(3)Nadia B.
If you want great Cuban food this is the place to go. I always order the same thing churrasco (skirt steak) with rice and beans and sweet plantains. Good service . Quick service. Con: sometimes the waiter/waitress take too long to being more water or are forgetful
(4)Rc M.
Took some folks for their first Cuban meal. The food was amazing. The tamale was the best I've ever had. The appetizer sampler gave everyone a chance to try different foods. The entrées were very well prepared and there was plenty of food (we had to take some home). The place was clean and the service was attentive. The sangria was good but the one down side to the experience was that the fruit in the glass was like a fruit cocktail rather than the fresh sliced fruit I was expecting. I would go here again, bring friends, and try even more of the menu.
(5)Roya B.
Very good Cuban food for my "last supper" in Miami Beach! I had a traditional Cuban sandwich. The plantain chips can be dipped in garlic sauce and are delicious!
(4)Brad D.
(5)Shalynn H.
Roast pork was delicious... Requested yellow rice instead of white rice and I was not disappointed. Food was excellent and so was the service. We will be back again!
(5)William L.
